Julie Bresset Olympic Champion!
BH Suntour mountain bike team rider, Julie Bresset has become a well-deserved gold medalist in the 2012 Olympics. A spectacular reward for all the work which crowned the winner of the first Olympic title in women's mountain biking for France. The Frenchwoman put away the race went home with the gold after winning with a time of 1h. 30m 52s over Germany's Sabine Spitz and American Georgia Gould, who have hung the silver and bronze, respectively.
Two days after suffering a fall during training and after receiving seven stitches on her elbow and bruises on her leg, Julie has won her first Olympic title and the tenth Olympic gold in London for the French.

Evidence of the intense pace being set early was seen when British rider Annie Last set a difficult pace from the start. Midway through the second lap Julie continued to push the pace and dropped all but two riders and would never give up the lead again. Bresset continued with the German Sabine Spitz and American Georgia Gould in pursuit with the rest of the 30 participants who have gathered in the circuit of Hadleigh Farms in Essex following in their wake. With two laps left to the finish, the BH Suntour rider expanded her lead to 1 '15 "on the Spitz and Gould who were left battling for 2nd and 3rd. At the end of the day Julie had secured the win and hung the gold medal around her neck.
