G5 seat clamp direction
The RC-1, Cristal, and G5 seat clamp have a stop on the inside of the top of the clamp and can only be installed one way.
Carbon paste in seat tube
We recommend using carbon paste in the G5, RC-1, GC Aero, and Cristal seat tubes, but it is always a good general rule to use this with any carbon frame.
Seat post sizes
The G5, RC-1, and the Cristal all use the same aero seat post diameter, although the Cristal and the RC-1 are longer. The Speedrom and the Prisma use a 31.6mm round seat post.
RC-1 seat post length compared to G5
The G5 seat post is 130mm long and the Cristal and RC-1 seat post is 300mm long. The current G5 aero seat post will also fit older models G3, G4.
G5 Shimano BB cup adaptor removal and install
All the models except the Speedrom are BB30 ready frames. All of these frames can interchange from standard Shimano cranks to BB-30 cranks. We use Shimano cup adaptors in the frames that can be removed and installed depending on the build. These cups are installed with Loctite 242 and need to be removed very carefully. Removing the adaptor cups require a hard plastic or aluminum with a plastic tip punch so the cup or bearing won't be damaged in the removal process.
Installing a seat on a G5, Cristal, and RC-1 post
The best method to install a seat on this post is to tighten the front mounting bolt lower than preferred seat position and then tighten the 5mm allen bolt to the desired position.
G5/RC1, and Cristal cable guide routing
We designed these bikes with a patent pending BH Criss cross cable guide so that the right shift lever cable housing can be routed to the left side of the frames and the left shifter cable to the right side (drive side). The cable inner wires will run parallel down the tube and cross in the cable guide for a much neater and cleaner look. This was designed to have less bends in the cable housing exiting the handlebar for smoother shifting performance and to eliminate cable rub and cable housing rattling against the headtube.
GC Aero front der cable routing
The GC Aero front der cable has a tube inside the frame that allows the cable to be installed and have the inner wire exit the hole at the BB. If the cable will not exit the cable hole then using a 5mm shift cable housing will help align the inner wire and the exit hole.
What rear der hangers interchange
Rear der hanger A fits 2011 Cristal, G5, Prisma, RC-1 Hanger B fits G2, G3, G4, RX-1, Speedrom, and Cross. Hanger C fits Connect, 2010 Cristal. Hanger D fits GC Aero.
What is the torque setting for the carbon front der. hanger?
(G5,Cristal,RC-1)Our recommended torque setting for the front der is 7Nm-5.2lbft.
Are the seat clamps interchangeable for all the models?
The G5, RC-1, and the Cristal all use the same seat clamp. The GC Aero uses a larger seat clamp. The Speedrom and the Connect both use a 34.9 round seat clamp.
What size headset bearings are in my BH?
All BH models use an 1 1/8th Campy integrated standard top assembly. The lowers are 1 1/8th Campy integrated on the GC Aero, Speedrom, And Zaphire. The lowers on all the remaining models use a standard 1.5 integrated bearing: 1/8 cartridge bearing G.W. 41x30.15 45 deg x 45 deg or 1.5 cartridge bearing ACB 36 deg x 45 deg.
Campy front der won't work on my G5 with a 53t?
The profile of the Campy front der requires the der to be at the highest position on the mount. The mount on the frame has a shelf on the front of the frame that will hit the concave washer. To allow the der to be raised high enough to clear the 53t chain ring you need to notch the front concave washer on the corner of the washer closest to the frame to allow the der to raise up.
