BH Bikes Named Official Bike of Team Direct Energie
BH Bikes is pleased to announce its naming as the official bike of Team DIRECT ENERGIE. Formerly known as Team Europcar, the UCI Professional Continental team is among France’s longest-running, fielding its first squad in 1984 as System U. Since inception the team has been known as Bonjour (2000-2002), Brioches la Boulangère (2003-2004), Bouygues Telecom (2005-2008), Bbox Bouygues Telecom (2009-2010) and then Europcar from 2011-2014. DIRECT ENERGIE’s line of directeur sportifs reads as a “Who’s Who” of professional cycling featuring legendary names and outsized personalities such as Cyrille Guimard and 1989 Tour de France winner Laurent Fignon.
“Vitoria based BH Bikes is an ideal choice, well regarded for innovation and performance,” offers current team director and former professional rider Jean-René Bernaudeau, “The brand is well known for its quality and we’re excited about the collaboration.”
“We’re delighted to once again participate in the best races in the world,” states BH Bike’s Unai De La Fuente, “Sylvain Chavenel, Thomas Voeckler and the rest of Team DIRECT ENERGIE will serve as the best product testers and showcase for our products.
“Since 1909 BH has been a leader in technology, innovation and aerodynamics,” continues De La Fuente, “DIRECT ENERGIE’s history of competing in WorldTour races such as the Tour de France is a huge motivating factor for all of us here in Vitoria.”
